Commercial General Liability

Prime Specialty’s Commercial General Liability Division writes Primary Coverage for accounts domiciled in New York (admitted in the New York Free Trade Zone), New Jersey (on a surplus lines basis) and Connecticut (on a surplus lines basis).

  • State Available: Primary Coverage for accounts domiciled in NY (on a surplus lines basis & admitted basis in the New York Free Trade Zone), NJ (on a surplus lines basis), and CT (on a surplus lines basis)
  • Target Classes: Commercial General Liability & FFXS

    • Designated Project Policies
      • Covering only the OWNER of the project
      • Covering only the General Contractor (GC) on the project
      • Covering only a certain Subcontractor on the project
      • Covering both the OWNER and GC on the project
    • Tradesmen
    • Homebuilders
    • General Contractors (where some (or all) of the work is subcontracted to others)
  • Carriers are rate A (X) by A.M. Best
  • GL Limits:
    • $1 Mil Each Occurrence/$2 Mil General Aggregate/$2 Mil Products & Completed Operations
    • $2 Mil Each Occurrence/$4 Mil General Aggregate/$4 Mil Products & Completed Operations

While the majority of the business we entertain is contracting-based, we are able to consider other classes.

Follow-Form Excess Liability

Prime Specialty’s Excess Division writes Follow-Form Excess Liability coverage on behalf of an AM Best "A (X)" Rated carriers on both an admitted basis in the New York Free Trade Zone and on a surplus lines basis. The coverage may be placed over annual 'practice' policies and over 'designated project' policies. Prime will consider quoting Owners, GCs (subbing out some or all of their work), and Trade Contractors.

Please note that Prime will only quote excess of Prime Specialty CGL (1.2.2 or 2.4.4) placements.
